24th - 27th June 2025
The Expo launches in June 2025 as an annual event that combines seminars, workshops, networking, pitching and job opportunities, open to anyone working or studying in the media sector.
The Expo follows the success of the highly curated Birmingham Film & TV Market pitch event, taking place on the 27th June 2025.
You have the masterpiece. You have the vision. You've shot a trailer, edited, composed and perfected it in every possible way. You've spent money and time but you know it's worth it.
And it all comes down to marketing yourself as much as your work. The Expo brings industry experts for a day of interactive talks and workshops on pitching and producing.
Full programme announced 1st February 2025.
NOTE: Pitch Perfect Workshop on 24th June is included in the BFTM Pitch Pass.
Everything starts with a script.
As well as opportunities to meet producers, showcase your work, hone your pitching skills, and find writing partners, join us for an exclusive day of events with leading script executives, to receive invaluable feedback and get your work to an industry standard.
Full programme announced 1st February 2025.

Before anything else - a media production is a business. It is easy to get lost in the complexity of its execution, and it often takes away from the creative freedom. Surrounding yourself with experienced people in the business sector can therefore be a lifesaver.
Our partners span across all sectors of the industry, from accounting, insurance and legal services, to sales agents and line producers.
Are you a student, looking to continue your education, or wanting to explore a different skill path? We work with colleges and universities across all of our events - build your network before you've even started!
Networking is overused and thrown around all too often when in the context of any social or public event.
However it is undoubtedly why we attend such events - looking for the next opportunity, which can only come from a meaningful new connection.
We understand the difficulty of navigating a room full of strangers - and will be on hand to help 'break the ice'; as well as sprinkling around opportunities to take part in interactive workshops and seminars.
Take advantage of the Networking portal (open from May 2025) to help you pre-schedule your meetings.
What exactly does a producer do? There are so many actual job categories that separate one type of producer from another. Whether you want to work in production, are on the lookout for someone to join your team, or want to get hired - there is a place for you in the room. Join the conversation with some of our executive producers and hear what they look for - and where they go - to find the right person to join their team.
BFTM was established in 2021 as a platform to showcase Midlands as a creative hub with an ever growing pool of talented professionals in the film & TV industry.
It continues to develop and bring eyes on the region by attracting more international partners and collaborating with film bodies from outside the UK. The Expo will welcome foreign companies looking to build local network and explore co-production opportunities, breaking the boundaries for the Midlands creatives on a global scale.
